A crocheted cat, of course.
I made this for a friend who’s turning 40 soon. I’m really hoping he likes it.

I find it so hard embroidering faces onto crochet. The nature of the stitches mean you can never quite place the elements exactly where you want them, because of the holes. Hence the whiskers slightly off on the left side.

I made this in the same vein as skittle-bunny, mainly because I love this yarn – Sirdar Wash ‘n’ Wear. It’s so easy to crochet with, very crisp, holds shape well and doesn’t split at all. It’s not too soft though, so unless you’re making something for babies, I think it’s brilliant for general amigurumi. I love it, though I need to get more colours – I’m kind of done with grey and navy I think!
This kitty will be going to the same home as the owl I made (in my Header pic) a while ago (from a brilliant pattern by Roman Sock). (The owl and the pussy cat geddit?!)
